Echo was captured alongside his mother at a young age, barely remembering an existence beyond SPECTRACORP, even his human name, which was erased from file. Both him and his mother were assigned a subject number. Each were subjected to various experiments, but ultimately allowed to live alongside each other in The Garden until his mother was killed for attempting to break them out. This incident kept him on SPECTRACORP's radar, higher-ups choosing to raise him from that point in order to keep a close eye on him. Echo struggled to connect with other residents, and the stress of watching his mother die caused him to begin acting out against SPECTRACORP which attracted negative attention from his guardians. It wasn't uncommon for him to turn up with bruises and other injuries from getting into trouble; many of his interactions with his guardians became more punishment than experimentation. Echo eventually found a small circle of friends to exist within, growing closest with Aeon and Wisp. Having picked up drawing from his mother, he often gifted his new friends with pictures on special days or just for fun. Though drawing was a personal hobby, his real passion was in music. Not knowing any better, Echo was initially excited about the FINAL FREQUENCY competition before learning what it entailed.
